A 1984 version of a graphic novel originally published in France right after WWII. Art by master cartoonist Calvo, in a style similar to Disney cartoons of the 1930's. Text is by Victor Dancette. A review once characterized this book as having 'art too gorgeous to believed, and text which is God-awful," which sums it up pretty good. Written right after the occupation and the end of the war, it is very much a product of it's time. The text may be interesting in a historical context, but the main draw of the book is it's gorgeous art. A must-have for any fan of animation, classic funny animals or furry art. Book is hardcover. It was in storage for many, many years, and as a result the covers have warped slightly and the book does not lay flat. Does not effect it's readabily, and the spine is tight and uncracked. Book is being sold 'as is.' A good chance to pick up this classic volume cheap!
