A RARE FIRST PRESSING ON THE BLACK / GOLD PARLOPHONE LABEL. YOU SEE THEM SOMETIMES WITH ONE SIDE THAT HAS A GROOVED / RIDGED LABEL SIMILAR TO DECCA PRESSINGS, THIS IS ONE OF THOSE. IT HAS ISSUES WITH ONE LABEL AND THE REAR PANEL OF SLEEVE BUT THE RECORD ITSELF PLAYS VERY NICELY INDEED. THE BEATLES PLEASE PLEASE ME PARLOPHONE PMC 1202 UK 1963 MONO MATRIX / STAMPERS; SIDE 1; XEX 421 -1N GO 2 SIDE 2; XEX 422 -1N ( AT 12 O'CLOCK UPSIDE DOWN ) H ( AT 9 O'CLOCK UPSIDE DOWN ) 1 ( AT 4 O'CLOCK UPSIDE DOWN ) TAX CODE EMBOSSED TO SIDE 1 LABEL - THERE IS AN M TO THE LEFT OF CENTRE AND THEN THE TORN LABEL VINYL; BOTH SIDES DISPLAY SOME SURFACE MARKS, NONE FEELABLE OR SERIOUS. BOTH SIDES PLAY VERY WELL WITH ONLY MINOR CRACKLE AND SOFT TICKS NOTICED IN QUIETER PARTS. GRADED VG LABELS; SIDE 2 FEATURES THE DISTINCTIVE GROOVE AROUND THE OUTSIDE EDGE AROUND 10MM FROM THE EDGE OF THE LABEL. THIS ONE "PETERS" OUT ON THE TOP SIDE OF THE CIRCLE TO ALMOST NOTHING. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS GROOVE PRESSING EXISTS.THERE IS A LITTLE SCUFFING TO THIS SIDE'S LABEL , STILL A NICE VG+ SIDE 1; UNFORTUNATELY HAS A LARGE LABEL TEAR SO IN POOR CONDITION INNER; THE EMITEX LINED INNER HAS A COUPLE OF SMALL TEARS TO OPENING EDGE AND A SMALL NAME NEATLY WRITTEN TO ONE SIDE, BUT NO OTHER DAMAGE SLEEVE; THE ERNEST J. DAY SLEEVE HAS SOME SELLOTAPE RESIDUE MARKS
