This is a Beatrice Wood decorated tileit is approximately 11 inches & 11 inches it is artist signed BEATO and very nicely decorated, the bad part is it didn't survive final firing without damage, t is a big stress crack along face of tile that has been filled in preporation for restoring, it was then put into storage. t is a fill to one back corner, & crazing & glaze filled stress cracks on face of tile, t is also residue of a gray primer in spots, easily removed. I've seen of many tiles by Beato, this is the first I've seen that has relief cut into the back, was it an experimental design by Beato?, a lot of her flat tiles didn't survive firing, if it was a experimental design to stop cracking it didn't work out so well, .
