BEAUTIFUL FRENCH ORNATE VINTAGE PEDISTAL FRAME âe" HEAVY!!! Elaborate, and Heavy, Victorian Cast Iron Picture Frame Has a swing out top on an elaborate pedestal. Fantastic BAROQUE elements to the design! Features roses at the top and other floral, feather and scroll design on the sides. The frame is signed âeoeJMS, and says âeoeIron Artâe on the back. Very similar to some of the frames of the Stern Brothers of New York and Virginia Metalcrafters. Very good condition with no breaks or cracks and wonderful old patina to the finish! This is not a recent reproduction! Comes with a nice picture of flowers. Measures 16" tall by 9" wide and will fit a 6" by 8" photo, mirror, lithopane or painting. The frame with pedestal weighs 5 pounds! Very solidly constructed. Much heavier than spelter or âeoePot metalâe. The frame features wonderful design features in the manner of the French Rococo (though the frame is most likely American, from the 1890s). The surface is an gilt looking worn gold wash made to look bronze or brass. If you have any questions, please ask, we respond quickly. See photos and thanks for looking. The style of this frame was popular world-wide and the manner in which it was designed can also be considered to be Art Nouveau, Victorian, Secessionist, Shabby Chic, Neudeutsche Kunst (new German art), Arts and Crafts âe" read more
