Murano, the island in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, is the center of classic Murano glassmaking, especially millefiori and paperweight-style glass pieces. The first of what would be called collectible glass paperweights was made on Murano by Pietro Bigaglia in the mid-1840s. This colorful glass pendant contains myriad millefiori canes, which are the hallmark of numerous paperweights from around the world, especially paperweights made on Murano. This is a contemporary glass piece. The millefiori canes are of the style made by Murano's Fratelli Toso Fornace (glass furnace). This glass pendant is a superb piece of jewelry. It has a finished hole near the top so that you can put the pendant on whatever style or material of chain you wish to place around your neck. This Murano glass millefiori pendant measures approximately 1 and 5/8 inches across. It is approximately 3/8 of an inch thick. The pendant does not come with a chain or necklace of any kind. This is a fine representation of the classic Murano millefiori cane look. Murano glass jewelry in the paperweight style are a prized addition to jewelry and glass paperweight collections, and they are highly-desired by collectors. This is a wonderful example of Murano glass jewelry, and you will be pleased to own it. THE CONDITION of this Italian Murano glass millefiori paperweight-style pendant is very good. T are no chips, scratches, gouges, moon bruises, or abrasions on the surface of the piece. You may see the teeniest flaw under a magnifying glass, but we looked and saw nothing. You may see microscopic bubbles within the set-up around the cane clusters using a magnifying glass. T is a slight, but smooth indentation along the left side of the circle at around nine o'clock. It is simply a manufacturing dip and is polished smooth. This is a wonderful example of the Fratelli Toso Murano style, and you will be very pleased that you own it. The glare in the photographs is from lighting, nothing more. UNITED STATES PAYMENT can be with a money order, PayPal, well-concealed U.S. currency, a personal check, or a bank check. Items paid for with any kind of check, including a bank or cashier's check, will be held 10 days to allow for bank clearances on both ends and inventory paperwork.
