This auction is for a very nice vintage blowtorch. T is no manufacture name on this torch, it is marked "MODEL NUMBER 5549" . When I purchased it t was still old fuel in the fuel tank. The wooden handle is intact with no cracks or breaks. The tank is in perfect physical condition with no dints or holes. As the torch had fuel and did not leak I am fairly certain of the intergrity of the tank. The air charging mechanism moves freely but does not seem to add air to the tank. The torch head is in beautiful physical condition however the regulator valve does not open or close with normal hand pressure. I have not applied any tool to attempt to break it free nor have I tried to disassemble it for cleaning but suspect this is all needed and prehaps some penetrating oil. I cleaned the surface with 00 steel wool to remove grime and dirt. The tank appears to originally have been painted copper colored and the regulator handle has traces of yellow paint from past identification marking of the torch. Despite flaws this is an exceptional torch easily restored and displayed. The shipping cost indicated are on present USPS rates and subject to change due to rate increases effective 14 May 2007.
