BEAUTIFUL SIGNED NETTIE ROSENSTEIN 1960'S VINTAGE FIGURAL PIN The life of Nettie Rosenstein strongly parallels the life of Hattie Carnegie, both were born in Europe, came to America and started their careers in fashion. Both women had their own high fashion Couture houses and expanded into ladies accessories, hats, handbags, costume jewelry, perfume, lingerie. Although she started designing millinery in the 1920's her Couture house was opened in 1932 and in 1961 discontinued the fashion end but kept the costume jewelry, handbags, accessories and perfume. Her business lasted until 1975. Since her costume jewelry was produced in limited quantities compared to the larger production of famous manufacturers like Trifari or Coro, finding signed Nettie Rosenstein costume jewelry is rare and very sought after. The quality of her costume jewelry was excellent, using diamante rhinestones, poured glass colored stones, in the case of this beautiful male period figural torso pin, it is quite heavy and solid, it is not lightweight. T is so much attention to detail that is rarely seen in costume jewelry and only in a piece of fine gold and diamond jewelry.
