STANLEY NO.5 1/4 SMOOTH JACK PLANE FROM 1940'S For your consideration is offered bautiful of Stanley #5-1/4 smooth hand plane. This 11-1/2" long plane has 1-3/4" wide cutter . Original black japanning finish is + 95% with very little wear . Iron blade is almost unused and fairly sharp. Plane wasn't used much, casting is perfectly preserved . Both premium rosewood handles are damage free as well and have only minor wear to finish. No crack, breaks or damage. Frog receiver is "I"shaped so it is earlier type, manufactured by Stanley shortly after WW2 in late 1940's. These planes have a lighter, smaller casting the No 5 and were often used by schools and in the home workshop. Excellent quality woodworking tool or collectible item. Please see pictures for detail.
