RARE Beauty JOSEPHINE BAKER CERAMIC FIGURINE JAMAICA STYLE HEDI SCHOOP Shown here is my beautiful Josephine Baker ceramic figurine . Made from the likeness of the famous African-American born French actress, singer and dancer. She has a white and green turban wrap tied in a bow on her head to match her sarong slit in the front showing one leg and foot. She also has an aqua, strapless bra-like top tied in a bow. She has lovely red lips showing her teeth. Pretty brown eyes compliment her bronze skin. She is standing on a green base with her hand on her hip and the other hand is holding a green bowl. Height: 13.5" tall. Width: 7". Vase measures 4" x 3". Flowers can be put into the vase. Signed: Heidi Schoop on the bottom of the base. Dated: 1940s to 1950s. Hedi Schoop created fabulous, ceramic art, which she personally designed from 1938 - 1958. Hedi fled Nazi Germany and settled in north Hollywood, California where she began making plaster molds, and pottery specializing in human figures, asian couples, ethnic figures, i.e. Josephine Baker style figurines, Hula dancers, vases, lamps, animal figurines, ashtrays, theater figures, planters and much more.
