Purchased From Estate - etching by M.R. (Maurice) Bebb Road-RunnerDescription:Artist: Maurice R BebbColor Etching (appears to be done on silk or silk like material)"Road-Runner"SignedLimited Edition137/1501968Image size 9" x 7"Framed size 14.25" x 16.75"The etching is offered in the original wood frame. On a lower back corner of picture is a small paper note attachement from the artist which includes info regarding the techniques used to create the piece. The etching appears to be done on silk or silk like fabric.Bebb states, " Technically this process is called "Multiple Soft-ground and Aquatint Etching". The address of his studio in Muskogee, OK is also included.Additional Info:Maurice R. Bebb, a master printmaker whose work in color aquatints and etchings made him one of the most accomplished etchers in the country. A member of the Prairie Print Makers, Bebb was a self-taught artist who didn’t begin printmaking until he was in his '50s. His work remains some of the best examples of multi-plate soft-ground and aquatint etching and is included in several permanent collections including Cornell University.
