An 18K SOLID GOLD SWISS HUNTER pocket watch, made in about 1870-80's by BEGUELIN HOURIET, TRAMELAN (see photo below). The watch has an interesting 3-4 BAR 13 Jewels Movement with a lever escapement, that is key-wind & set on the back. The case diameter is 41.5mm / 1 5/8". The total weight is 51.8 gr.. T should be around $ 400 gold value in the case. The case is very solid & sturdy. Condition: The watch only runs while the hands are being set & then goes on for another 20 seconds or so. Otherwise the balance wheel swings well when the watch is jostled & the pallets move, maybe a little adjustment is needed to that the pallets also engage the escape wheel teeth properly when hands are not being set. The dial is fine, the hour hand seems to be a replacement. The case has some marks & scratches & the front & back covers are quite dented, especially the back. The four hinges are good. The watch has a plastic crystal. The key is not available but pocket watch master-key-sets are easily available on ebay as well. Canadian residents pay applicable sales taxes.
