I have tried to find this plate on other websites with no success, so that is why I have used the word rare. Being an Immigrant myself, I was certainly attracted to the design of this plate. The first recorded Immigrant at Ellis Island was seemingly a girl by the name of Annie Moore. She is seen staring up at the inspiring Statue of Liberty, with the buildings of Ellis Island in the background, contemplating undoubtedly her life in her new Country. The border of the plate has the signature traditional Shamrocks. This is a limited edition, as can be seen on the back of the plate. See last picture. It states "First Sight of Miss Liberty - Annie Moore The First Immigrant registered @ Ellis Island, January 1892. Below that a brown Belleek Mark, followed by the words "Limited Edition No 2457 - Edition limited to the year 1986. Excellent condition. No chips or cracks. Size is approximately 8 1/4" in diameter. A lovely plate of the usual Belleek quality and as stated previously, a very inspiring subject. ***Always glad to combine items to save you on postage, if it can be done safely. **Overseas buyers, PLEASE contact me regarding overseas shipping before you bid. I charge EXACTLY what it costs me to ship, but overseas postage has just become so cost prohibitive of late and I don't want any heart attacks or any more cancelled transactions, read more
