A pair of sugar tongs for the Bellesteamers ltd (London). The tongs are 5" long, they have a circular "Bellesteamers Ltd London" crest on one side. They are stamped with the makers name inside the tong. The maker is The Alex&Clark co ltd.The Bellesteamers company ran paddle steamers on the Thames, Medway and the Kent, Essex and East Anglian coast.As far as I know, the line was in service from 1888-1929, when they were bought out by the General Steam Navigation Co. The tongs are in good condition with some very minor small scratches. The crest and the hallmark are very clear.
