Rare Vintage 1930's Shipping Crate Stencil "Butler Bros." Butler Block St. Louis Missouri. Great Local Memorabilia, Reusable and One of a Kind!Edges are worn from use and storage. Found in a box with other stencils dated early 1930s but this one is not marked with shipping dates.Cool Fact : Butler Bros started as a wholesale goods retailer using a catalog only. With other five and dime stores doing well and competing in the market, the Butler Bros opened their own chain, also known as " Ben Franklin's"Answers to questions on these:1) Material is a heavy Oil Board2) There is only one of each location. USA and Canada locations. From a factory in Pennsylvania.The seller said it was from a cast iron toy manufacturer, but there are no marks on the wooden boxes and I have no way of confirming that.
