The wood used in this piece is over 200 years old. It was salvaged from the Old Stevens Tavern, which stood on Stevens Avenue in Portland, Maine from 1765 until its destruction by fire in 1998. This historic tavern served as a way station for many early travellers. The wood has been painstakingly reworked by craftsman Camillo Breggia. This wagon bench is one of several pieces created by Mr. Breggia using this wood. Because of the woods unique origin, no two pieces are ever alike. Tfore your furniture item is truly an original.
