This is a good stated first printing copy of Snow in the City A Winter's Tale by Berta and Elmer Hader. Macmillan 1963. This is a picture book set in New York City and has wonderful vintage illustrations. There is nothing more magical than a f irst snow in New York City. The hills and winding paths of Central Park, the city streets and the children playing in their 1960s bright colored snow suits. We meet Paul and Pamela and their dog Peter the Poodle. This book also takes us to the Thanksgiving Parade mounted by Macy's each year (here called The Big Toy Parade) street corner Santas, not to mention the store windows, Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center and Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire. The Haders capture a moment in time in the city that would be hard to find now. The book has some flaws. The spine cover is worn, but the binding is solid. There are a few pencil scribbles on the endpapers and an ink scribble on the front endpaper. The text is clean and unmarked. Overall condition rates as good.
