BESSON BREVETE, 31 MEDALS OF HONOR SILVER CORNET. Comes with extensions for A, Bb and a slide removal type C extension with it's own waterkey. Wear from use with scratches, a small dent on the C extension pictured and two patches done long ago by a professional, on the bottom of the sheperds crook to valve body also pictured. The finish shows very light loss and this horn was well cared for. My father who pass in 2008 would have been 93-4 this year loved these old horns. This is one of the last of his treasured horns. The serial number 34,xxx puts it in the mid 1880's. There is a star at the bottom of the bell signifying professional model. The slides all pull easily and the valves move quick. Only one valve is pictured pulled out because the others did not just come out and I did not want to harm this horn. There is no agent on the bell so this was a custom order or it was purchased in London. The mouthpiece is a Besson Prototype #3 with some signs of wear but little finish loss. There is a lyre and a cleaning tool in the case and a little can of cork or slide grease shown in the case in it's own little holder. The leather case appears in good condion for so old. It may need some fine tuning. I noticed some little rope coming out of the pipeing that runs along the edge of the case on the bottom. I do not have a key for it. This read more
