You are considering a very rare and attractive decorated 19th century Ottoman Hacking Dagger and its original scabbard. This gorgeous Islamic single edged weapon has its metal handle, and blade profusely decorated with foliage in intricate whorls, and a stylized Islamic Inscription on each side of the blade, as shown.The pattern is engraved identically on both sides of the blade and handle: On the handle t are 2 separate engravings depicting foliage whorls, on each side. On each side of the blade t are 7 separate inscribed foliage groups incised! The pattern is mirror imaged on both sides of the blade. The tip of the hacking dagger is re-enforced. Overall a rare and very well made museum quality late medieval single edged weapon. This hacking Dagger was originally purchased from a German auction house; I have seen such weapons sell in North American auctions for many thousands of dollars! Intact, untouched. Old English collection. Length of Dagger in sheath: 19 3/4 inches. The Ottoman Empire was established by the cruel killing nature of the Mongoloid races invading into Southern Europe and "rulling by the sword".
