. Beswick Collector's Book No. 1 Fantastic piece of Beswick literature and information! Actual item pictured. Click any photo for a larger image! Beswick Collector's Book No. 1 -- Wow, you don't often see these available, I've had it for years and years. Beswick used to occasionally release these softcover paper catalogs, though they never seemed to put a date on any of them. This one is an early one though, it actually says it is number one! So I assume it is the first one they ever put out for collectors. T are many pictures, including rare items! The catalog is in full color! 56 pages of horses, cats, dogs, cattle, fish, Beatrix Potter, Winnie The Pooh, birds, wildlife and farm animals! I can't list all the models individually, but to whet your appetite, t's a number of Connoisseur series pieces, including the "Bedouin Arab", "Cardigan Bay", several of the large racehorses, the "Mountie Stallion", the Puma (Tawny) and others. Most of the regular line of horses are pictured, including the Norwegian Fjord, Welsh Cob, Hackney Horse, Appaloosa and Pinto. A full page of foals is pictured. All the Mountain and Moorland ponies are pictured, in a two page spread with several paragraphs about these moor ponies by R. S. Summerhays, past president of the British National Pony Society. Then t are several pages of what is termed " Special Items". One of the most interesting of these is the Laying Shire Mare, that appears to be in a quite different and darker dapple gray than the production pieces! The special items pages also include some Mare and Foal figurines, the "Mounted Indian", the "Life Guard", "Susie Jamaica", the "Lipizzaner with Rider", the "Walking Racehorse & Jockey", "Huntsman" and "Huntswoman" and more! T are four pages of cattle and calves, five pages of medium sized dogs, a page and a half of small dogs, with the other half page being of fish and four pages of wildlife, including the big cats. Then four pages of birds and a page of farm animals, including sheep and donkeys. After that, t is a page of miscellaneous figures. Following is a page of cats, then the Winnie The Pooh series. Then three pages of the large and impressive "Fireside Models", including cats, dogs, penguins and a fox. Lastly, t are four pages of Beatrix Potter figurines! Jam packed with photos of Beswick figurines! I've posted a few individual page photos, so you can get an idea. It's a great piece of Beswick memorabilia for the collector! Approximate dimensions: 8.25" L x 5.75" W x .12+" D CONDITION GOOD condition, intact binding, fairly clean. NO writing. The condition is fairly good, considering the age of this paper item. The front cover has a quarter inch tear on the top edge, which you can see in the picture. Otherwise, the overall condition is good, the catalog is intact, NO writing and fairly clean, though t are traces of normal soil from handling, but NO stains or spills or anything objectionable. The stapled binding is holding up well, and no pages are loose. The item is from a non-smoking home w it has resided the past 30 or so years. It will ship well protected in a Priority Mail envelope.
