Description Beta Sigma Omicron Up on the auction block is this great and highly collectible, vintage Beta Sigma Omicron sorority badge. Beta Sigma Omicron was founded in 1888 in Columbia, Missouri. This local group started as a local fraternity and began to expand in 1891. In it's lifetime BSO initiated 15,000 members. Fifteen chapters were active at the time of the merger with ZTA sorority in 1964. The badge features a swirl etched Sigma. This is a monogram of which the Greek letters are superimposed over each other. This badge is engraved "2505." I would imagine this to mean this lady with the 2,505th initiate into the fraternity overall! A fine chain connects a symbolic shield with a lamp of knowledge, stars a scroll and a banner with Greek writing. This badge measures about 15/32" (12mm) tall and weighs in at 2.7 grams. I guarantee this pin to be 14k gold as stamped. This item is in excellent, original, and wearable condition. Thank you for looking and enjoy bidding!
