I am selling a wonderful figurine made by Betty Lou Nichols. It is "Virginia" one of the Dixiebelles line made in the 1950's. She is a planter created to hold displays of fresh flowers. She is 10" tall and her skirt is 9" wide. I am selling this for someone else. When purchased "Virginia" had some minor chips(nicks) on her skirt edge and her ties on her hat were missing. The buyer found out that Betty Lou Nichols daughter, Luanne Nichols Shoup does repairs on her mothers figurines and etc. So they contacted her and she repaired the damages professionally on Virginia in April,06. Virginia is now just as she was originally ment to be. Virginia does have a moderate amount of light crazing as is common in many of the California ceramics but is quite acceptible. The picture of the bottom of her shows that t is even some of the zig zag edging left around the bottom. Usually that is all gone by now.She is shown nicely in the Head Vases Etc. book The Artistry Of Betty Lou Nichols By Maddy Gordon pages vi and 90. Book price on Virginia is $2500. Please feel free to email me with questions. I am not sure of the shipping costs as of yet. Happy Bidding!!
