This auction is for a stunning example of a highly pyritised ammonite fossil of the species Promicroceras sp from the world famous Jurassic Coast beach of Charmouth, Dorset UK. The fossil measures 22mm (7/8 of an inch) across which is a very good size for this species. The ammonite is beautifully preserved on both sides and it has a wonderful golden colour and shine. The detail in the ribbing is good making it a very attractive fossil. Promicroceras are very beautiful ammonites and also very popular. Around 195 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
