Here is high quality sterling silver spoon from Kearney Nebraska dating back to years around 1900 featuring on front of handle detail image of state seal with railroad train, house, ship and wheat field with stacks and tree, above a banner reading EQUALITY BEFORE THE LAW, below black smith working iron with raised hammer, below cow or bull side view, then banner across reading NEBRASKA, then corn plant, apple and a plant down the handle. In the bowl it has embossed very detailed image of building, the writing is STATE NORMAL SCHOOL, KEARNEY, NEB. On the reverse of handle: STATE CAPITOL bldg., then STATE UNIVERSITY, then mound and writing CYCLONE CELLAR and a plant. All that on a handle!!! It measures 5 3/4" in length (147 mm), feels solid, and is in excellent condition. On the back marked STERLING and has hallmark with the old mark of H on a pennant for Mechanics Sterling Company, which was subsidiary of Watson Newell Co.
