This auction is for an original, early pre 1800'S Biliston, Battersea Enamel Box. This Antique Box must have been extraordinary! The landscape Pastoral paintings on top and all 4 sides are museum quality..There are many fine lines in the enamel that is typical in a lot of these old Boxes, but in addition to these lines, 3 of the for corners on the lid have actual holes.(see photo).The interior is in very sturdy shape and the hinges and frame are strong.The art work does not have a lot of damage, and is still very beautiful each painting is surrounded with heavily applied raised gold.This is unusually large, it is 8 1/4" wide and 5 1/2" front to back at its highest point it is about 4" high.in the middle.Please feel free to ask questions...Would you like this fast?
