Published Hamish Hamilton in their Reindeer Books series 1968 5th impression. Illustrated D Watkins-Pitchford. The red cover with the Reindeer vignette is bright and the pages are clean, white and crisp (for the most part) and it's firmly bound. But the previous owner seems to have been more interested in using the book as a notepad rather than for reading purposes as he/she covered the fep with pencil writing, there was a drawing on the front pastedown and another on the rear ep. I have carefully erased these - but light indentations remain. There are also 2 names and addresses (in ink) on the rear ep. Additionally (please see pic) perhaps an insect was present at some point, leaving the visible brown marks. The book is not an ex-library copy. The unclipped d/w is now protected but is heavily chipped along the top with some closed tears. There is a sprinkling of foxing along the top of the book block edge but still it is a scarce and collectable item! Free postage is for UK only.
