BILL WYMAN: ALEXIS KORNER ALBUMS

Pricing & History
A group of five Alexis Korner albums including: R & B from the Marquee on the Ace of Clubs label; I Wonder Who on Fontana; Alexis Korner A New Generation of Blues on Liberty; Juvenile Delinquent ; and Alexis Korner and Cyril Davies on Krazy Kat. There is perhaps no figure more instrumental in facilitating the formation of the Rolling Stones than Alexis Korner, who was at the center of the British blues scene in the 1960s. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones and Charlies Watts (who was the drummer for Alexis Korner's band Blues Incorporated at the time) met at one of Korner's shows. Korner is also responsible for the Stones first gig at a major club. When Korner was granted a coveted spot performing on the BBC Jazz Club radio show, it conflicted with his regular weekly appearance at the Marquee Club in London. The Marquee Club was persuaded to allow the newly named "Rollin' Stones" to appear in Korner's place and this first appearance at a major club in July of 1962 became the first "Rollin' Stones" show.
