Billcliff Whole Plate Field Camera Including Dallmeyer Lens & 2 Plate Holders This Billcliff whole plate (8.5 x 6.5 inch / 216 x 165mm) camera is in wonderful condition and comes complete with 2 matching plate holders and a Dallmeyer No.1 Rectilinear wide angle lens. The camera and lens are both labelled, sold by 'W. Morley, 70 Upper Street, London'. The camera is made from spanish mahogany with ebony binding, dovetail joints and original maroon leather bellows. The bellows are lovely and supple with no light leaks although I made a small repair inside the bellows to fix a pinhole however this is very neat and not visible from the outside of the bellows. The wood is in excellent condition throughout and all the brass fittings are original with exception of the locking catch beneath the handle. This appears to have snapped off at some point however the camera stays folded without it. The Dallmeyer Rectilinear No. 1a lens is a wide angle design with a focal length of 5.5 inches (140mm) and has a rotary wheel with apertures from f15 to f45. It covers the whole plate size with no problems. The lens is in excellent condition, the glass is very clean with no scratches or marks except for a tiny bit of dust as you would expect for a lens this age.
