This is a rare 1946 B&G Christmas plate, in the series that began in 1895. It is called "Commemoration Cross in Honor of Danish Sailors Who Lost Their Lives During World War II" and was designed by Margarethe Hyldahl. After Denmark was invaded, many Danish ships left to sail for the Allies. In one of the main squares of Copenhagen,a beautiful oak cross was erected in memory of those sailors who gave their lives fighting for the freedom of their country. This vintage plate is in excellent condition, with no chips or scratches. The light spots are from my camera flash. I am lisitng several plates and will combine shipping for multiple purchases.
