Set of 4 BIOT BUBBLE / ART GLASS Balloon pedestal wine glasses light blue/aqua in color. eclectic & artistic trapped bubbles within the hand blown glass. all 4 are in excellent pre-owned condition. very clean. measure 5 1/2 inches high great price ~ these are selling online & in stores in France for $58 each !!! * please see my other listings for more BIOT glass * *from a smoke-free home* Unique "bubble" glassware from the Provencal town of Biot, France. finely made pieces that incorporate functional use with exquisite artistic qualities. All Biot glassware is handblown in the Biot workshop, which houses 30 master glassmakers. Unlike most functional glassworks, the Biot glass is filled with beautiful bubbles. It is said that the soul of Biot is in its bubbles. Eighteenth century glassmakers settled in the South of France in the small town of Biot. They began producing functional glassware for every day life such as oil lamps and jars. They did not view their creations as fine art. La Verrerie de Biot has continued the tradition of quality glassmaking while introducing an artistic value into each piece.
