Birge & Fuller 8 Day Shelf Clock Here you have an all original, C.1845, Birge & Fuller, Bristol, Conn., 8-day time/strike column and cornice shelf clock, in very good original condition. The case is nice with a crusty old finish, probably brushed over with light varnish long ago. There are a couple of minor veneer chips on the base. The original wooden dial is very nice with a very small piece missing at around 11 o'clock and showing only minor ware for its age. The strap brass movement is signed, Birge & Fuller, Bristol, Conn, USA and is clean and running strong. The three glasses appear original. The middle glass is in great shape with only minor flaking, while the lower glass is good condition showing minimal flaking. The hands appear original. The label inside the case features an old 'Puffer Billie' Railroad Steam Engine of the period as well as the name of the makers - John Birge 7 Co. (see photograph). It is aged and readable. The weights are 6 3/4 pounds and as I cannot find images of originals for these clocks I cannot say if they are original or not (they will be boxed separately). Any serious offers will be considered and if accepted the listing will be changed to a buy it now listing for that offered price.Shipping to US will be Free by USPS, FedEx or UPS and will include insurance (will check for best rates).
