Gorgeous character Topsy doll from the American character of the 1920's, with three tufts of black mohair hair and earrings. This doll has vague manufacturers marks the first part of which is "Dollies" but is made with a chocolate brown bisque or pottery head with three holes in it for the tufts of her hair which are inserted, plus the additionof two hoop metal earrings into holes in her ears. She appears to have fixed black glass pupil-less eyes, an open mouth, painted black eyebrows and red lips, nostrils and inner eyes, plus black tinted hair with moulded curls. She has a five piece composition body with extensive wear around the joints, particularly around the neck and shoulders, chipped paint to her fingers with one thumb missing and very worn toes One of her hair tufts has lost its ribbon tie. She is 28cm (11") tall and so cute! She is wearing a red and white cotton set of top and pants with red spotted trim and belt and a red and blue plastic necklace.
