A Black Bob Annual from 1959 – In Near Fine condition. Black Bob, The Dandy Wonder Dog, was a prolific character in the Dandy comic, first appearing towards the end of 1944. He proved to be such a popular character that, in September 1949, DC Thomson launched the first of a total of eight annuals dedicated to the canine, spanning 15 years to 1965. Here we have the sixth of the set, a 1959 Black Bob annual in near fine condition. The pages are unmarked and a beautiful off white colour with no inscription of any kind. The exterior of the book is also in super, still glossy, condition (the books were not laminated at this time so no issues with the laminate lifting). There is only the most minor of bumping to the spine ends and the top left cover board has a slightly larger bump. There is also a very small wear mark on the blue spine stripe at the bottom of the front cover. However don't let these minor imperfections detract from what is truely a lovely example that will sit nicely in any collection.
