Measuring around 8-1/4" tall and impressed "Wedgwood" (only) on the base, is this magnificent old antique Wedgwood jasper black dipped urn. Although it isn't perfect, it is lovely and will display beautifully. The urn is very clean, with perfect relief, and probably from around 1860. The lid is missing, and there are no handles. (I cannot determine whether or not handles were originally part of the urn). Also, there is a tiny flake of white missing under the base, (see photo), but this does not show when the urn is standing upright. Finally, there has been restoration to the small pedestal on top of the base, but it was done well and looks professional; some of the relief near the repair has been slightly discolored (see photos). The other 2 parts of the urn (base and top) are completely original. Please note that the color is even, but there is some glare from the camera. Overall, this is truly a fantastic find, and is outstanding condition considering its age. This piece would be a wonderful addition to any Wedgwood collection.
