The Black Dispatch April 11, 1919 NOTICE: This week's listings are the last issues of the Dispatch I will be offering for sale. Thanks to everyone for all of your business! Articles of Interest: Negro Policeman Appointed - W.D. Fuller is first Negro policeman in Oklahoma City, General Hoffman tells story of Black Heroes, Negro Woman to practice Law in Dixie, Until the Change - Mrs Houston tell how to put sense into Sufferage and more.Front page only. This page is in two pieces as shown in image. some tearing but still nice display piece. This Oklahoma City Afro-American newspaper was published weekly for decades, ceasing publication in the 1980s. All of the copies I have for sale came from the archives of the Oklahoma Historical Society and were released from them after being photographed for microfilm archival. Most copies have been cut at the fold to facilitate binding. Most have stickers from the historical society on the front. Most have yellowed with age and have some edge wear. Some have trimmed edges. A number have missing pages, each listing notes the number of pages in the issue listed, for example a complete issue will say: "Complete 12 page issue" and an example of an incomplete issue will say "Pages 1-6 only" or "Front page only".
