Design: Opihi Shells with Mongo Shells; Tapered, Smooth, Polished, Satin Ribbon; Size: 'Opihi Shells Taper from Approx. 1 1/4"-1 3/4" Wide; Measures: 35.0" Overall Length Expandable , Adjustable Ribbon to Lengthen as Desired. Features: This Beautifully Hand-made Hawaiian Lei Necklace is Crafted with Polished Blackfoot 'Opihi (Hawaiian Limpet) Shells Intermixed with Two Rows of Yellow Mongo, One Row of White Mongo, and One Row of Green Mongo Shells. The Lei Necklace Closure is Adorned with a Brown Satin Ribbon to Accentuate the Overall Appearance. 'Opihi shell's are Beautiful, Especially when Ground and Polished; They Possess a Beautiful Sunburst Design and Nice Reflective Features Similar to Abalone. To some native Hawaiians, 'Opihi are 'aumākua (Family or personal gods, deified ancestors who might assume the shape of living animals, plants, clouds, etc around them).
