This tomahawk was forged from a piece of 1018 steel with a 1075 high carbon steel bit forge-welded in for the blade. I started with a regular low-carbon piece of 1018 steel and wrapped it around a form. It was then heated to near melting point and a piece of 1075 carbon steel was fused into it for the cutting edge. It was then hardened and tempered for toughness and edge retention. The blade was forged wide and with a sharp up-sweep so should your hawk hit the target at a high angle then it still has the ability to "stick". It was left with the grey/ black forged finish. The handle is made from straight grain hickory and has been tightly fitted and sealed with danish oil. You must be of legal age in your area in order to purchase this item.
