Average use wear.I inspect each piece personally.6" RoundThis is the oldest of the Danube Blue dinner sets with the Ribbon and Patent 99183 on the back.History:The Blue Danube pattern was inspired by the designs of the Chinese Yuan Dynasty period (1260-1368 A.D.). The flowers in the pattern represent the ancient Chinese symbols of good fortune and happiness. The original pattern has been produced for more than 200 years and was the inspiration for the Blue Danube China. This china pattern is one of the most complete dinnerware patterns sold in the United States and has over one hundred pieces available. This line is no longer in production so any that you find is one of the pieces produced since 1951. This is a beautiful pattern, under glazed on translucent porcelain. Each piece is under glazed and fired at temperatures of 2600 degrees. Blue Danube has several backstamps with the oldest being the ribbon banner with the words Blue Danube in script and including the words Reg. US. Pat. Off. underneath. The rectangular backstamp dates from 1977-1996. The latest backstamp has script words Blue Danube and a swirl decorative line or frame around them.
