TITLE: BOBBIE, A GREAT COLLIE AUTHOR: Charles Alexander PUBLICATION DATE: 1926 FORMAT: 114-page hardcover book, illustrated with black and white full page photographs. CONDITION: Good +. The brick colored linen boards are clean but show edge wear, especially at the corners and spine edge. Binding is good; there is a dedication dated 1931 on the front free endpaper. The book is printed on high quality cardstock with rough cut edges; light age toning and a few page smudges. This is the story of a collie, Bobbie, and his amazing 3,000 journey across the U.S., to return to his home, including crossing the Missouri River. The book is based on facts provided by investigators and observers, but it was obviously not possible to catalog every point of the dog's journey. A wonderful story of a dog's instincts and loyalty.
