Polish pottery production began as early as the 7th century when the region belonged to the Slavs. Modern Polish pottery finds it's origins dating to the first half of the 16th century. This pottery originates in Boleslawiec, (Bole-swa-vee-ec), a small village in the southwest section of Poland , at the Zaklady Boleslawiec factory. The Bolesawiecian people have been producing beautiful and functional Polish Pottery since the early 16th century. Boleslawiec Polish pottery is classified as high-density stoneware, a very hard product shaped from opaque, white clay of excellent quality. Polish pottery is handmade using small stamps soaked in paint which is then applied to the pottery to create a pattern. The intense colors create a diversity of brightly colored pottery and are chosen according to Polish custom. One piece of Polish Pottery will always compliment another, no matter the design. You may be tempted to only display your pottery, but remember, allof the Polish Pottery is made to be used! It is functional as well as beautiful. All of Polish Pottery is lead free, dishwasher, microwave, freezer and oven safe. Polish Pottery Stoneware - Use and read more
