This is a Bolex 16mm bevel film splicer. It was manufactured in Switzerland in the late 1960s. The splicer is in near perfect condition. The principal of the splicer was that you scraped a beveled edge on both sides of the film before applying the cement. When the splice is completed it is thinner because of the beveled ends and passes through projectors or optical printers easier and with little to no bounce. I used it to edit my first three films, Belgian Panorama, Paris of the Parisians, and New York City - Broadway USA; all a part of the larger Doug Jones Travelogue collection.
