HERE IS A GREAT SCENE FROM A CABINET CARD BY A VERY FAMOUS PHOTOGRAPHER E.A. BONINE. IT IS A LANDSCAPE PHOTO. IT SHOWS TWO OAK TREES WHICH ACT LIKE A FRAME FOR THE PICTURE. THEIR IS WRITING ON THE BACK WHICH STATES " ORANGE GROVES AND VINEYARDS OF THE SAN GABRIEL VALLEY FROM COL. WINSTON'S" YOU CAN EVEN SEE SOME SMALL BUILDINGS IN THE BACKGROUND. THERE IS SPOTTING NOTICED ABOVE THE WORD VALLEY AND TWO SMALL SPECKS NOTED ON THE DESCENDING BRANCH OF THE RIGHT TREE. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO NOTICE THEM AND SEE FROM THE PHOTOS THE CONDITION OF THIS CABINET CARD. THERE IS ALSO A NAME SIGNED IN THE BACK OF A HELEN BROWN. OF COURSE I WOULD HAVE NO IDEA UNLESS I SAW HER AUTOGRAPH. MAYBE THE BUYER OF THIS PHOTO COULD FIND OUT. ANYWAY E.A. BONINE WAS A FAMOUS TENT PHOTOGRAPHER WHO LIVED IN HIS TENT AND ALSO USED IT AS HIS DEVELOPING STUDIO. HE WENT TO YUMA AND PHOTOGRAPHED INDIANS AND THE CITY OF WHICH HE IS NOW FAMOUS FOR. HE EVENTUALLY LEFT YUMA AND TRAVELED TO CALIFORNIA AND EVENTUALLY SETTLED IN PASADENA IN THE EARLY 1880'S SOME BOOKS SAY 1876. HE SETTLED IN LAMANDA PARK WHICH WAS A SMALL NEIGHBORHOOD AND WAS ANNEXED IN 1914 BY PASADENA. COLONEL WINSTON IS MENTIONED
