You are bidding on a hardcover book with dust jacket entitled David Moffat’s Denver Northwestern and Pacific “The Moffat Road” by P.R. “Bob” Griswold. The 244 pages of this publication provide a biography of the exciting life of David Moffat and the story of his Moffat Road. The book covers the years between the late 1860’s and 1913, at which time the DNW&P was reorganized as the Denver & Salt Lake Railroad. The story is illustrated with 145 black & white photographs; 36 maps; eighteen diagrams of locomotives, passenger cars, and structures; various timetables and advertisements; and more. An appendix shows a six-page list of stations, bridges, tunnels, elevations, snow sheds, sidings, etc. located between Denver and Steamboat Springs as shown in an early DNW&P mileage and track chart. Eleven pages provide maps of the DNW&P track layout at communities and other points along the line.
