Untitled book containing brief biographies and photographs of 14 actors. No details of the author, the photographs are attributed to J. E. Mayall, 224, Regent Street and published by Messrs. Marion & Co, Soho Square. The book seems to date from the mid 1860s, although there is a dedication on the front endpaper "E.B. from W.B. 19.10.79". The actors are: Benjamin Webster, Charles James Mathews, Mrs Charles Mathews, H. Compton, J.B. Buckstone, Mrs Stirling, Miss Helen Faucit, Miss Kate Josephine Bateman, Mrs Frank Matthews, Mrs Hermann Vezin, Mr Santley, Mr H.T. Craven, Herr Theodor Wachtel and Mr George J. Vining. The pages are foxed throughout the book and most of the spine is missing. The photographs are in very good condition.
