Up for bid is one brand new Bordallo Pinheiro Lemon Pitcher with beautiful green leaves. This lovely serving piece is made in Portugal and has the retail tag still attached. It is about 7” tall, 2 ½” wide at the base and retails for $50.00. It is microwave and dishwasher safe. Once you see the close up picture, you will appreciate the attention to detail that went into the creation of this gorgeous piece. Each Bordallo Pinheiro piece has the frog crest on the underside(see picture). In my research of this piece, I found that Majolica means decorated earthenware pottery with an opaque white glaze. I believe this describes this beautiful pitcher but you be the judge based on the various pictures I’ve posted with the listing. From Bordallo Pinheiro website:Faianças Artísticas Bordallo Pinheiro (Artistic Earthenware) was founded in 1884 with a view to revitalising the traditional arts of ceramics and clay, blending them with the modernity of various styles which are geared towards the future, but, above all, with the originality of their creator, Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro. And so was spawned the mass production of pieces which, until today, could not be dissociated from our mindset and cultural references of a universal nature. Please take a look at the Bordallo Pinheiro Green Cabbage Chip & Dip Tray, the Green Cabbage 8” Leaf Pitcher/Vase, read more
