Boris Grigoryevich Dyatlov (1924 - 1990), well listed Russian artist. Graduated from Moscow School of Applied and Decorative Arts, master class of Prof. V. Arakelov. Active member of the Union of Soviet Artists. Exhibited since 1962 in Russia and outside. His works are in Russian Museum (Saint Petersburg), Saratov Art Museum (Saratov) and many private collections in Russia, Germany, France and Japan. You are bidding on a study for artist's major work "Year 1929". 1929 was a terrible year for Russia, the year of socialist collectivization, when millions of farmers and small landowners with families were deprived of their property and sent to concentration camps. This dramatic expressionist study depicts mourning for the bread winner, who has been killed in the process of expropriation. On back side of the board inscription in Russian: B.G.Dyatlov, born 1924. Stady to painting "Year 1929". 1950. Oil on board, 38cm X 34.5cm. Below is the stamp of the Soviet Art Foundation. Condition is OK, considering the age of the piece. Small crack has been repaired (see the pictures). This rare and important artwork is offered with NO RESERVE.
