This is a chalkware, hand-painted figural of a Sarah Gamp, a comic fictional character from the mind of Charles Dickens. It is meant to hang on a wall and has a built-in hanger on the back. The maker is Bossons, an English company that closed it's operations in 1996. This piece was made in 1989. Sarah is wearing a purple bow on her pale yellow hat. Her collar is a turquoise color. This wall hanging is 4 3/4 inches high, 3 1/2 inches wide and 2 3/8 inches thick. It will fit on most walls. This chalkware is in very good condition. T is the usual areas of wear, especially to the rim of the hat, but it only adds some character to the piece. This is a very nice Bossons chalkware figural. It would look great in any room. Good Luck
