This is a replica of the cap worn by the Boston Braves during the 1941-42 seasons. It is manufactured by Cooperstown Ballcap Company and is period correct in shape and form. It is 100% wool with a leather sweat band. It was purchased new in the early to mid 1990's. Cooperstown Ballcap Company sold this cap as a 1940 Boston Bees cap (see picture taken from catalog). The Boston Braves were known as the Boston Bees from 1936-40. However, indicates that this cap was worn by the Braves in 1941-42. They say the 1940 cap was navy with a red visor and block "B" - the same style used throughout most of the rest of the team's history as the Braves.
