Baby J's Story... Baby J is a Boston Terrier. She is 23 months old, and weighs in at a hefty 8.7 lbs. Aside from just being totally adorable, she's just not quite all there. And in spite of her daddy being a beautiful Champion, she has several issues (thankfully, most are just cosmetic!), such as... she has a tongue that is too long (she was checked for wry mouth, and fortunately she does not have that), she can see around corners without turning her head (gotta love those googly eyes!!), she has a very mild case of ESP (elongated soft palate), and she had some obvious leg issues right from the start. Just before Baby J turned a year old, a vet friend checked her LP's. I knew her left one was bad. I guesstimated about a Grade2 to Grade3, and he confirmed it. A short while ago, Baby J was brought in for xrays so that it was officially confirmed. She is now diagnosed with a Grade4 Luxating Patella in her left leg. Fortunately, her right leg is tight as a drum! However, her vet also recommends I have the surgery done ASAP because her muscles in the affected leg are becoming severely atrophied. Surgery for the little munchkin has been estimated high end at right around $1500. My husband has been off work on state industrial with a broken foot (he has been off work since May 13, and the prognosis is not good. It's not healing properly) , and of course, I am currently unemployed (anyone hiring?) I've siphoned off as much as I can from where I can, but I just don't have the funds to pay for her much needed surgery. I was given the suggestion to make some paintings and sell them on Etsy or eBay, but I don't know if I can paint enough products or sell them for enough $$ to be of any real help. I've already been robbing Peter to pay Paul, and Peter is getting really ticked off about it! But here I am, giving it my best shot. So if you have read this far, you will hopefully be interested in knowing more about this special little item I am selling. So here's the good stuff... Original Artwork info... Another great Baby J bookmark! This is a totally unique and different kind of bookmark! It is a HAND PAINTED bookmark of none other than our favorite little gal, Baby J in one of her most popular poses which has been hand-painted on a piece of laminate. Let the littlest Boston, Baby J, read that new novel with you! Her adorable little face decorates this bookmark and encourages you to smile! Even your child will be clamoring to read just to use this bookmark! We've created a new twist to the same-old, same-old!! Baby J is in one of her smiling faced poses, and of course, her little pink tongue is sticking out! This is a small painting, a mere 2-1/2" wide by 3-1/2" tall. The entire bookmark is 7-1/2" tall. It is encased in a double layer of 5mil sheet of laminate, and the background is as much a head turner as Baby J, of a Hershey Chocolate bar! Really makes the painting pop! You won't know whether to kiss Baby J or bite on the candy! Top all that off with a string of fiery peach crystals and golden beads, and a sweet little multi-faceted heart for a top and you have one exceptional little bookmark! Truly an inspiring piece, that will leave you hungry for more! We think it's one that will bring you good luck and much love! The painting is in reverse style, and will never get faded or scratched. Reverse Painting info... A reverse painting is a painting on glass (or laminate, as the case may be) where the artist paints the portrait on one side of a piece of glass, but it is viewed from the opposite side. A difficult art form at best. Because it is on the reverse side of the glass, it will last throughout the years without getting scratched or nicked, and there is no fading!
