Bowden 400 Prototype A BICYCLE FROM BEN BOWDEN'S VISION Own a piece of bicycle history -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a prototype of a Bowden Industries 400 Bicycle . This was created using a copy of the blueprint drawn by Ben Bowden himself, the famed creator of the Bowden Spacelander . The story as I was told is that when Bowden Industries went bankrupt, the blueprints for this bike and the 600 series were left behind in the factory. The new developers found them some time later along with some of the parts that are on this bike and it was later put together to create what you see This bike was purchased from John Howland who is a vintage bike collector and is featured in the Evolution Bike Books with some of his beauties. This bike was pieced together using various different bike parts to create Ben's original drawing. The outer shell appears to be some type of wood or fiberglass. This bike is not finished entirely. I believe it to be about 80% done with only trim accents and a paint job left. This bike is a definite head turner. INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION : 1. Bowden 400 Prototype
