This impressive amber specimen was mined in Simojovel , Chiapas , Mexico . Chiapas amber is over 20 million years old and originates from the resin of the now extinct hymaneae protera tree. This amber specimen is a very large, unbroken mass weighing 525 grams more than 1 pound, and measuring 6 inches at its longest point, 4.5 inches at its widest point, and 2.5 inches at its thickest point. When the sunlight shine direct on the piece the amber appears mainly solid green with some blue tones,The piece keeps its green color even on the shade with no direct sun light. The piece appears to be completly clean of internal cracks,The top of the piece was expertly polished fallowin the natural form of the specimen while the bottom was left in its raw natural state.
